ThinKiosk startup delayed if internet access is not available

When running ThinKiosk endpoints on a closed network, without internet access, you might experience a delay in system startup.

ThinKiosk is waiting for Windows to reach out to Microsoft servers in order to verify the validity of certain Windows certificates. In case those are not accesible, ThinkKiosk will eventually timeout and start.

To disable the timeout in such scenario, all we need to do is to add a single registry value to the ThinKiosk key, as per screenshot below:

Delete

Registry key value:

Key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\ThinKiosk

Value : SkipFDCRC

Type : REG_DWORD

Data : 1
